5 Colorful Fruit Smoothie Recipes to Make a Rainbow

Red Strawberry Smoothie
1 cup strawberries
1 cup raspberries
1 1/4 cup apple juice
1 banana
1 Tbs. honey
*ice as needed to thicken
 
Orange Smoothie
1/2 can orange juice concentrate
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1 cup mangos
2 strawberries (to add a little color)
1 Tbs. sugar
*ice as needed to thicken
 
 Yellow Pineapple Smoothie
1/2 can orange juice concentrate
1 cup pineapple/mango blend
1/2 cup peaches
1/2 cup water
*ice as needed to thicken
 
Green Fruit Smoothie
1 cupe orange juice
1 banana
1 large handful of spinach
1 1/2 cups light colored fruit (pineapple, mango, peaches)
*ice as needed to thicken
 
 Purple Grape Smoothie
1 cup grape juice
1 cup blueberry/blackberry blend
1 banana
*ice as needed to thicken

 

When layering your colors in your cup, you will want to freeze each layer 30 minutes before adding the next color.  This way, the colors won’t mix.  Add a little cloud of whipped cream on the top and you have the perfect rainbow fruit smoothie.   If you have smoothie left over (like we did!) you can make some fun rainbow popsicles as well.  They turned out so cute too!

    Holly, what an absolutely beautiful and delicious recipe! I have a really stupid question: how many smoothies does this recipe make? Thanks for such a great post!

      Alison, I could have easily filled 4 pint jars. If your cups are smaller, it would obviously go farther. This time I just did the 2 pint jars, the rest in popsicles, and still had some flavors left over. (7 popsicles total)

    Have you tried it with yogurt? Wonder if that would work

      I’m sure you could add yogurt and still have it taste fabulous. The colors just won’t be as bright.

    I used this more as an inspiration then the recipe. We had all our usual smoothie ingredients on hand. The purple was blueberries and oj, green was frozen kale and pineapple juice, yellow was pineapple a piece of mango and pineapple juice, Orange was mango a strawberry and oj, red was strawberry and pomegranate juice. And if any flavors needed more liquid I added coconut water. Made small batches in my ninja personal size blender cups and froze after each color. Thank you for the idea!
