Basket Labels

I need to be more organized.  I think this is an ongoing goal, never completed.  Well, today I got one organization project off my list:  The bathroom closet.  It was a mess.  I had boxes and boxes of stuff for that closet.

So, here’s what I did to help the craziness.  I found these plastic baskets at Target.  I bought 5, but then went back for more!
Then, I started sorting.
Man, those baskets filled up WAY too fast.  (Or maybe I just have too much junk!)
I used my Silhouette to cut some cute little frames for my labels.  Then, attached the label to the appropriate basket.
Doesn’t this look so much better?  I love being able to find what I need more quickly.  I am going to do more baskets like this for my other closets and storage for batteries, light bulbs, cleaning supplies etc.  I could go on and on.  I might have a house full of baskets soon.  🙂

New (Old) Games

This last weekend, me and my family moved into our new house.  We love it, but the actual moving part was a lot of work!  We are still recovering.  🙂   In our packing and unpacking, we discovered some things that we had forgotten about.  Like the games that were all in the back of the closet.

Our two new (rediscovered) favorites are Blink and Wig Out.  The kids couldn’t even remember playing these games before!  We had to read the instructions again to remember the rules.  Both of these games are quick and easy games (for ages 6 and up).  Which I love!  (Wackee Six, is probably my personal favorite!)  Since our discovery of our fun games we have played them several days in a row now.  Some of our older favorites are Pit and SkipBo.

I think I need to host a game night….. as soon as I unpack all the boxes!

My Next Quilt

I am a quilter.  If you have met me recently, you probably wouldn’t know this about me because it has been WAY too long since I have made a quilt.  I started learning about quilting when I was pregnant with my first baby over 10 years ago!  Wow, that makes me feel old.  🙂  Here are some of my favorite quilts.

This quilt is called a bull’s eye quilt.  I found my pattern in a book called “Quilts from Aunt Amy”.  I made this with 3 of my friends back in 2009.  We traded blocks so we could have more of a variety of fabric.  I love making something cute from scraps.  Someday I am going to get a picture of the 4 of us and our quilts.

This quilt is called Button up Buttercup by Friend Folks.  I made this one back in 2008.

This is Peppermint Posies by Thimble Blossoms.  I made this quilt in 2009.  I love having a Christmas quilt.  Someday I hope to have more seasonal quilts to rotate with the holidays and seasons.

This is a hexagon quilt.  It is pieced 100% by hand.  I know, I’m crazy.  But isn’t it cute?  I followed the tutorial by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms.  This quilt isn’t quilted and bound, but I still enjoy it hanging in my sewing room.  I started this quilt in 2008, and maybe I will get it finish this year. Maybe.

I bought me a new machine last year and I’m sad to say she hasn’t made a quilt yet.  (It’s been a crazy busy year.)  It’s time to break her in.

Now, this is where I need your help.  I bought a fat quarter bundle a while ago of “Pure” by Sweetwater.  I love the brown and aqua!  Now I just need to make something with it.  Do you have a favorite quilt pattern I should try?  I would love to hear your suggestions.  Thanks in advance for your help and I will be sure to show you what I make.
