We are back at it again. Jonie from Just Between Friends has joined me this week in making ornaments. (We did gift ideas already!)
First up is my felt ornaments. I had so much fun with these! The fun part about this is that you can use any color of felt you want! When I first started, I just made the decorative ones. Then, I had the idea to make ones with my kid’s initials.
Make your own felt ornaments in six easy steps:
First: Cut circles out of felt. I traced cans (tomatoes, tuna, or soup) to get a good circle.
Second: Cut out shapes, letters, designs.
Third: Sew shapes, letters, or designs onto one or both circles of your ornament.
Fourth: Sew around circle (wrong sides together), leaving a 1.5 inch open at the top of your ornament.
Fifth: Add batting to your ornament.
Sixth: Pin in your ribbon for hanging and sew your ornament closed.
For the snowflake, I used an image for my cutting guide. I also used my pinking shears to add decoration on one.
Be creative! There are so many different ways to change this up to make it your own.
Hi,
They’re simply adorable. Thanks for sharing I’m starting in the big shot machine world and didn’t know I could work on felt too with this thin dies. Thanks again.

When I first started, I just made the decorative ones. it’s important that we all allow ourselves a few moments to appreciate what we do have and to look forward with hope. I have always found that the best way to escape life’s more difficult realities is to read a good book.
