When I was young, I used to LOVE playing Name That Movie.
I would play it with cousins, friends… pretty much anyone that would play it with me!
Would you be willing to play it with me?
Let’s try it. I will quote a line from a movie, and you guess what movie it is from.
The correct answers will be at the very bottom of this post.
Good luck!

Do you need a hint?
All of them come from musicals.
Sometimes musicals make for long movies, but they are just classics.
I love the songs!

#1- The Music Man
We have the version with Matthew Broderick in it. It’s such a great movie!
I love the songs – You Got Trouble, Marian the Librarian, Shipoopi, etc. Good times.

#2 – My Fair Lady
Audrey Hepburn is wonderful in this movie!
I think it’s so funny when Professor Higgins sings “Why Can’t a Woman be More Like a Man?”

#3 – Fiddler on the Roof
My husband and I love the song “If I Were a Rich Man.” It’s so hilarious when Tevye sings about how if he were rich he’d have a wife with a proper double chin.

#4 – The Sound of Music
This movie is a family favorite, and it will always remind me of my mom.
Love it.

#5 – Oliver!
This movie will always remind me of my dad. He sang these songs when he was little.

How many did you get right??
Thanks for playing!
I’m terrible! I only had one until you said they were all from musicals, then I got one more. Do you have all those musicals? I’d like to watch them again.
Okay.. I was awful at that. Clearly, musicals aren’t my thing. 🙂 I didn’t get any right.. but I knew the harmonica one sounded familiar. Apparently I need to broaden my movie watching!
I would have done a lot better if these were Disney movies! I only got the Sound of Music one.
Such a fun post, Ashlee! My husband and I often play this game to keep each other awake when we are driving late at night! I confess, I didn’t get any of them, but they almost all seemed familiar!
How about this one: “What do I need manners for? I already got me a wife.” Guessing that will be no trouble! 😉 Hope you all have a great weekend.
