Freezer Spaghetti Sauce!

I know what you are thinking…really?  I can just open a jar and pour it over the spaghetti, why would I take the time to make this from scratch?!  TRUST me, this stuff is SO good!!

I have this great homemaker friend that I just love to pieces… she is one of those girls…  You know what I mean.  She makes all of her own bread (4 loaves a week!) bottles everything, has a fabulous garden in the summer and makes everything, everything from scratch. Oh! And she always has a clean house.  Seriously?  It’s true.  And I want to be just like her (can you tell?)
Anyway, last week she showed up at my house with this recipe and the Ziploc baggie of the sauce.  And it didn’t last very long!  How nice was that too??

Here is the recipe:  (she makes it and freezes 4 baggies at a time)
2 T olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1.5 lbs. hamburger
4 cloves garlic, minced
12 oz tomato paste
1 t Kosher salt
1 t pepper
3 t. oregano
3 t. basil
1.5 t thyme
(2) 14 oz. cans italian-style diced tomatoes
(2) 28 oz. cans crushed tomatoes
1.5 c. chicken broth
2 T sugar
2 bay leaves
2 T balsamic vinegar (she wrote that regular is fine too)

Try it!! You’ll LOVE it!
