Everyone gets in cooking ruts sometimes.
Right?
At least that’s what I tell myself, since it happens to me all the time.
I’ve been trying some new recipes lately-
and I always know if the new meal is a hit if my husband says,
“Add it to the regulars”
Here are some recipes that have been added to our regulars lately…
Creamy Chicken Taquitos
(recipe and photo from Our Best Bites)
Holly introduced me to these- and they were every bit as good as she said.
(we used the uncooked tortillas from costco, which are a favorite of mine)

mmmmmmm…
My husband loved them.
Cheesy Chicken Broccoli and Rice Bake
(recipe and photo from Meet the Dubiens)
My family is small, and we’re happier with less chicken, and more rice mixture- so we used 2 chicken breasts cut in half, and kept all the other ingredients the same.
Delish!
Linguine with Italian Turkey Meatballs
(Recipe and photo from Our Best Bites)
This recipe took a little more work- but it was worth it!
The meatballs were so good!
When I make it again- I’m going to puree some of the diced tomatoes to get more sauce, and less chunks… but we all really did love this one.
(warning- 2 year old wanted nothing to do with the meatballs.. but she really missed out!)
My friend Krystal brought this next dinner to us when our baby was in the hospital,
and my husband said, “you HAVE to get that recipe”…
BBQ Pineapple Chicken
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/3 cup Schmuckers Apricot Pineapple jam
1 tsp basil
1. preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. Rinse chicken and pat dry. Salt and pepper and place in a 9×9 pan sprayed w/cooking spray
3. Bake for 10-12 minutes
4. In a separate bowl, mix BBQ sauce, jam, and basil
5. Turn chicken and top with mixture. Cook an additional 15 minutes or until done.
*we add a pineapple ring to the top of each piece of chicken for the second baking time, and serve over rice.
Super easy-
and the kids love it!
And last of all- my most recent favorite
Green Smoothies
Don’t worry family.. I’m almost done raving about these…
(recipe originally found HERE)
Not exactly a dinner meal,
but I’ve eaten one every morning with the kids for weeks-
and I’m still loving it.
I did a whole post about it on my personal blog,
but if you still haven’t given it a try- do it!
Hope this gives you some new ideas to add to your list–
what are some of your regulars?
I knew I should have eaten breakfast before I read this, now I’m hungry and cereal just isn’t going to cut it! 🙂 The meatballs look fantastic, as does everything else.
These all look so good. Thanks for sharing.
I’m still looking for a light-colored frozen fruit mix so I can try the smoothie. I’m sure Costco probably has something… will have to check it out tomorrow.
Great ideas Cal! I can’t wait to try that Pineapple Chicken recipe! YUM!!
Yum! Thanks for sharing. I’m totally in a rut now where I don’t even want to cook our regulars. I’m printing these now. 🙂
YES! Awesome. I’m totally ready to try these this week! Thanks.
I’m glad you liked the taquitos as much as I did. We must be from the same family. 🙂
