Last year we took this home made fudge to our family Christmas party.
It was a huge hit. My husband loves it because it tastes like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
I love it because it’s easy to make!
Simple 1-2-3 is a great Holiday cookbook that is full of beautiful pictures – and isn’t that what makes a good cookbook?
It even has pictures of the ingredients you need to buy. I love it.
Here is a scan of this fudge recipe so you can see what I mean..
Here’s the recipe:
Creamy Double Decker Fudge
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 3 minutes
Chill time: 2 hours
Ingredients:
1 cup Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk), divided
1 teaspoon vanilla extract, divided
1 cup Hershey’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Directions:
1. Link 8-inch square pan with foil.
2. Place peanut butter chips and 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at high for 60 to 90 seconds, stirring after 60 seconds, until chips are melted and mixture is smooth when stirred. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; spread evenly into prepared pan.
3. Place remaining sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips in another small microwave-safe bowl; repeat above microwave procedure. Stir in remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; spread evenly over peanut butter layer.
4. Cover; refrigerate until firm. Remove from pan; place on cutting board. Peel off foil. Cut into squares. Store tightly covered in refrigerator.
Makes about 4 dozen pieces or 1 and a half pounds of fudge.
Note: For best results, do not double this recipe.
We got this recipe out of a cookbook we got for a wedding present:
Looks great Ash! I’ll have to try it!
