DIY Baby Legs

Have you seen these adorable DIY baby legs/leg warmers?

Seriously…look how stinkin’ cute these are! The possibilities are endless!!
You could add ruffles, buttons, ribbon, tulle, or flowers too!
My friend, Dana, makes these for her little girls and I’ve admired them
for a long time. My girls are all growing up, but I’m going to make some
bigger ones for my girls. They are just too cute.
Wouldn’t they be cute coming out of the top of a pair of boots too?
Dana and I had so much fun talking about the endless possibilities.

So, how do you make them?? EASY PEASY!!
First, you get a pair of regular old crew socks.
(For newborn to 18 months. For 18 months and up, you’ll want to use a knee sock.)
Next, you’ll cut the sock into four pieces.
You’ll want to cut off the toe of the sock and the heel.
This will leave you two rectangles to work with.
Take the smaller rectangle from the foot part of the sock and
leaving the right sides of the sock out, fold it in half, making a cuff.(If you’re confused like I was….just keeping looking at the pictures and I think it will makes sense.)
Then put it over the top of the other rectangle.
Pin it into place and now you’re ready to sew.
Using a bigger zigzag stitch (her machine was on 4 and 5) sew along the top.
The bigger stitch is to give it a little bit of stretch.
(We sewed them with hot pink thread so that you could see the stitches.)
Turn the cuff part down and wear.
They can be the perfect winter accessories for babies.
They are super cute and help keep their little legs warm too!
WHAT A CUTIE! Thanks Dana!
