#3 Birthday Cake and a Printable

I used two bundt cake pans and baked two cakes.
I refrigerated them overnight, (just because I baked it late at night, and because it’s easier to frost)
and in the morning we cut the two cakes into the shape of the 3!
We let the kids sort out the m&ms while we got the cake ready (they did wash their hands)
and then we frosted the cake with pink frosting, using the frosting to glue the two parts together.
I used a piece of dental floss to place my first line, so that it was somewhat straight,
and then got to work placing the m&ms!
It only took me about an hour to put all the m&ms on.
I bought two big bags of m&ms, and I still ran out of white ones… but I still love how it turned out.
Claire did too!

Emily asked me to make a printable for an etiquette dinner she was doing for a group of youth in her area. I made it a 4×6 size that she could easily hand out to each person around the table.

  1. Adorable cake! It looks perfect and I’m sure it’s absolutely delicious. My little girl is turning three next month and she’d love this cake, I know.

I’d be thrilled if you’d link up at this week’s Off the Hook!

  2. Hello!
I love this idea! Im planning on making this cake for my sons 3rd birthday. When you say you used 2 bags did you use all of the m&ms from the 2 bags? Im planning on making his yellow, red, and blue (superman) and I’m wondering if 2 bags would be enough

  3. I love this cake! I’m just about to make it this week, and was wondering about how many m&ms did you use? Did you buy them in a single package or by colors at a candy store?
