5 Unique topper ideas for birthday cupcakes
Birthdays are always an exciting time, especially if you are a parent. This will give you the opportunity to be creative and put your baking skills to the test. If you are having a little party or a get-together for your child, then you are going to have to take a look at the different ideas that are out there now. Many people want to come up with something that is of their own design, but sometimes this can be difficult. As a result, make sure to take a look at the different ideas that are presented here. You will be surprised to find that some of these can give you a good level of inspiration, but will also allow you to customize it in a way that will make it personal.
Names
Writing the name of the birthday child on the cupcake is a good idea, but there are numerous creative ways in which you can do it. You can write it in multi-coloured icing, or you can have spelled out in hundreds and thousands. Your child will certainly appreciate having their name on the cupcakes.
Action Figures
If you have a boy, then you may want to put something pertaining to his interests on the top of the cupcake. Characters like GI Joe and Action Man are quite popular, so if you have the skill, you can create the logo or the symbol of those characters. If you want to give yourself an extra challenge, then you can try creating the image from icing.
Princess Figures
For little girls, Disney princess figures are a good idea. You can use the colours that represent that particular princess, or you could try your hand at drawing her face. Your design does not have to be overly complex, but it should be recognizable.
Halloween
If your child’s birthday falls around Halloween, then why not give them a scary theme? You can paint ghosts and bats in icing. Having a birthday-Halloween party is often a good idea, so make sure to use this particular them as much as you can. It will save you a lot of trouble and you can have fun coming up with ideas for monsters and ghouls to decorate the different cupcakes.
Colors
If you want to be a little more abstract, then all you need to do is come up with a number of different colors to add to your cupcakes. You can create blue and pink cupcakes, or add different flavours. Sweets, jellies and smarties can also be added onto the top of cupcakes. This will give the children an extra treat to enjoy.
There are many more ideas and designs that you can come up with. Fancy cupcakes are often popular as well, especially if they happen to have a lot of cream on them. Cream and icing can be made into a range of unique designs, so all you need to do is apply these ideas to create great cupcake toppers.
