Thanks for sharing this!! I tend to want to buy EVERYTHING all at once, which I know logically isn’t do-able!!! This is a wonderful breakdown and definitely doesn’t look overwhelming!!! =)
Thanks for the link Nat! I am glad you posted this list! I need to work on it! 🙂

Great idea to break it down into 52 weeks. I need to go through mine right now and discard quite a bit. I love that Pres. Hinckley said that we all would throw some away and that is ok! Makes me not feel so badly.
What’s with all the sugar?? 180 lb. of SUGAR? Really??
Where do you buy the 25 & 50 lb bags? Costco or Sam’s Club? And what about the 100 lb container of wheat? I’m assuming this is not wheat flour, but something that needs to be ground as needed.
Winco and Walmart have 25lbs bags of flour/rice/sugar.
If you have a good resource for raw honey, please share!
Honey should always be bought locally, whenever possible.
you can get good local raw honey at whole foods.
How do I cook w/ wheat that is not flour? I would like to have links to recipes for using this stuff.
Buy a wheat grinder. Grind it into flour.
i’d like to see what you can make with these… especially cause we don’t like to eat plain tomato soup.
Buy extra of what you already eat that can go in the pantry. If you want your family to have something in an emergency and it doesn’t have a long shelf life and needs to be rotated, then start slowly finding ways to incorporate it into your current meals or new meals that your family likes.
Wonderful list. How do you handle expiry dates? Milk powder and flour go rancid. Drugs go off code.
cycle your storage items.
Great list but how many people is this for? 1, a family of 4, or more?

Hello, I would love to know where you got the cute jars with handled lids? Also, thanks so much for breaking down an overwhelming project. You’ve done an awesome job.
Ikea
I haven’t gotten into the regular pantry items yet, but each year beginning in September, I add holiday food items to my weekly shopping list. That way, from the middle of November to the end of the year, I don’t suddenly have a $300 bill trying to do buying for the holiday cooking. Also, I notice that the prices on “holiday” type groceries go up during the holidays. Your ideas are great!!!
Love the containers in your picture! I have these as well; got them at Ikea.
I would like to know what the difference is between hard wheat soft wheat etc?Besides he obvious
Quinoa is healthier than rice or Mac and cheese and it stores better. Instead of the mushroom soup I dehydrate mushrooms and found a recipe online for making mushroom soup with powdered milk. There are lots of recipes for dry soups that easier to store. Our favorite is the potato soup. Also it’s good to sprout wheat, beans, and mung beans. Easy to eat when you can’t cook and very healthy. I keep koumbacha brewing, water kefir and milk kefir.
Ok. I’m new to all this… What is koumbacha & kefir? I’ll google it in a minute but you seem to be very know this stuff.
