Kid-Friendly Nativity Sets

Merry Christmas!
When my husband and I were first married, his parents gave us this nativity set for a Christmas present. (If you are looking for a gift for newlyweds, Christmas decorations are a great idea!)

We love our Nativity set – but when we got it out this year, my two year old wanted to play with it.

I wanted him to see it, and learn the story, but I wouldn’t let him touch any of the pieces..
Then we went over to my mother-in-law’s house and what did she have?
A Playmobil Nativity Set.

She’s so thoughtful! I guess she saw them on sale last January and bought it then.

It was so fun to let our son play with all of the pieces as we told him the story – over and over again.
Just the other day Holly told me about some Nativity hand puppets that her family uses each year to act out the Christmas Story. No costumes needed. What a great idea!

I also saw these for sale on Deseretbook.com – they are finger puppets!
So rather than getting frustrated with the kids playing with the nice Nativity set – take one of these ideas and let them play with a kid-friendly set!
Hope your holidays are filled with joy, love, and lots of spending time together as a family.
